ASSESSMENTS AND PROMOTIONS

The school will conducts assessments as scheduled in the school hand book and attendance is compulsory for all the students.

Grade – I to Grade IX

The school has adopted the system of three Periodic Assessments, a quarterly, half yearly and a yearly exam.

Evaluation & Tests

  1. Each term will have a periodic assessment followed by a quarterly, half yearly and a yearly examination for evaluation of Scholastic areas.
  2. Examinations are held thrice during the academic year, at the end of Term-1 , Term – 2 and Periodic Assessments are held during the course of each term.
  3. Question papers and writing papers are provided for the examination and term tests.
  4. Marks and Grades for Class I – IX are the official entries in the Assessment Report. Grades are assigned in differential of 10 Marks.
  5. Promotion to the higher class will be determined on the basis of the performance throughout the year with due weightage for the different assessments and examinations as per the standard CBSE norms/guidelines

Assessments shall be as follows

Subject enrichment activities will be conducted on specified dates.

For Grade I to Grade IX the assessment and examination comprises of three terms. In each term total of 100 marks is calculated. 80 marks for terminal examination, 10 marks for periodic assessment test, 10 marks for subject enrichment activity.

Subject Enrichment Activities : These are subject-specific activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These activities are to be carried out throughout the term, however, they would be evaluated at the term-end.

Languages : Aimed at equipping the learners to develop effective listening and speaking skills. The language teachers will devise their own methods and parameters for assessment of the languages.

Mathematics: Project work and Activities will be undertaken as suggested by the NCERT syllabus and Text Books.

Science : Practical work and activities in Science will be undertaken as suggested by the NCERT Syllabus and Text Books.

Social Science : Map or the project work will be undertaken as suggested by the NCERT Syllabus and Text Books.

Co-Scholastic Activities (Grade – I to Grade IX) :

For the holistic development of students, co-curricular activities in the following areas are carried out in CBSE affiliated schools by the teachers and will be graded term-wise on a 5- point grading scale

The aspect of regularity, sincere participation, output and teamwork is the generic criteria for grading in the following co-scholastic activities:

  1. Sports and Games – Sports and Games includes Individual Sport and Group Games

  5. Health

Discipline : The students will also be assessed for discipline which will be based on the following factors – attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others.

Others:

Our school also participates in Maths Olympiad Examinations and Spell Bee Competition. Students also participate in various inter school competitions, both academic and cultural.
